Recently hired Nuggets GM Masai Ujiri is already working hard to resolve his team’s tenuous situation with superstar Carmelo Anthony, who reportedly has made it clear he does not want to sign Denver’s contract extension offer and instead wants to continue his career elsewhere. Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports fills us in via this Twitter message:
New Nugs GM Masai Ujiri tells Y! Sports he plans to meet with Melo soon, but nothing set as yet. “I want Melo to be a Nugget,” Ujiri said.less than a minute ago via TweetDeck

We’ll see if Ujiri can convince Anthony that securing his future in Denver is his best option. He might just have it in him; shortly after the Nuggets officially hired Ujiri, Chris Dempsey of the Denver Post wrote, “Anthony and Ujiri have had a solid relationship” based on Ujiri’s serving as a Nuggets scout from 2003 to 2007.
