Alex Kennedy of Hoopsworld.com reports that Denver Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony, who has not yet agreed to a contract extension with the team, is apparently giving off indications he will not return to the Nuggets after his current contract is up.
Kennedy tweets, “One free agent from this summer showed interest in Denver but swears that he backed away because Anthony told him he’s leaving after season.”
While it’s safe to call this hearsay right now, there’s not been any indication that Anthony has done the type of recruiting star players often do to help their franchises land premier free agents.
