Denver, CO (Sports Network) - Ubaldo Jimenez worked eight solid innings and Jason Giambi chipped in with four hits and two runs batted in to lead Colorado to a 4-2 win over St. Louis in the last of a three-game set.

Jimenez (15-1) yielded a lone run on three hits while walking two and striking out six, as the Rockies did not need any ninth inning dramatics to finish off the series sweep. Huston Street earned his third save of the season despite giving up a run in the ninth.

Dexter Fowler added two hits and scored a run and Brad Hawpe collected a pair of hits and drove in a run for Colorado, which has won four straight and six out of seven.

Chris Carpenter (9-3) absorbed the loss after allowing four runs on nine hits over six frames, while walking two and striking out three for the Cardinals, who have lost four out of five.

Fowler and Jonathan Herrera opened the home first with singles before Carlos Gonzalez struck out. Giambi and Brad Hawpe then delivered run-scoring singles to put the Rockies on top 2-0.

Giambi singled with one out in the third, advanced to third base on a Hawpe double and scored on a Miguel Olivo sacrifice fly.

Jimenez retired 11 straight batters before Jon Jay led off the fifth with a double, moved to third on a ground out and scored on Brendan Ryan's ground out to second base to trim the lead to 3-1.

Gonzalez led off the home fifth with a double and scored when Giambi served a single into shallow left to extend Colorado's lead back to three.

Jimenez retired the side in order again in the sixth and got Yadier Molina to ground into an inning-ending double play in the seventh with runners at the corners.

After a walk to pinch-hitter Randy Winn, the right-hander struck out Skip Schumaker and Felipe Lopez to end the eighth inning and his performance.

Albert Pujols doubled with one out in the ninth and scored on a two-out double to left by Jay off the glove of a diving Gonzalez in left. Street then set down Molina on a ground ball to end the game.

The Rockies have won 11 of the last 12 meetings between the teams...Jimenez is the first National League pitcher since Greg Maddux in 1988 to win 15 games prior to the All-Star Game...He has posted a club record nine straight winning decisions since his lone loss on May 9 against the Dodgers...Giambi played in the 2,000th game of his career on Thursday and had his first four-hit game since September 12, 2003 against Tampa Bay when he was a member of the Yankees...Carpenter suffered his first loss in six career starts against the Rockies...The Cardinals fell to 36-43 all-time in Denver, including 31-36 at Coors Field.
