Tebow Agrees To 5-Year Deal Worth $11.25 Million

Tim Tebow has finally signed a contract, officially becoming a member of the Denver Broncos organization. Tebow had not yet reported to camp, claiming he wanted a "position bonus" over higher pick and Dallas WR Dez Bryant, who signed a five year deal last week worth only $11.8 million, $8.5 million of that guaranteed. The holdout proved worthwhile as Tebow finally agreed to a five-year deal worth $11.25 million, but could reach as high as $33 million with incentives and bonuses.

He will now report to training camp, leaving fellow first round pick Demaryius Thomas as the only unsigned player. Thomas is also making progress towards a contract and talks are expected to conclude by the end of the day.

Tim Tebow And The Denver Broncos Are Working 'Feverishly' Toward Contract

The Denver Broncos and first-round pick Tim Tebow are working “feverishly” to complete contract negotiations, according to ESPN’s sources.

According to one source, progress has been made and the deal should happen in the next 24 to 48 hours.

The hang up seemingly involves Tebow asking for more money than Dez Bryant, the Dallas Cowboys’ wide receiver picked right in front of him.

Tebow’s agent, Jimmy Sexton, is believed to be seeking the customary quarterback premium that would pay his client more than a player taken before him.

Tebow was the second quarterback drafted and is apparently seeking more guaranteed money in a signing bonus.

The Broncos opened up training camp Wednesday morning with both Kyle Orton and Brady Quinn, Tebow’s quarterback competition, participating.

ESPN reports that Broncos’ head coach Josh McDaniels reminded Tebow that he is losing repetitions that he can never regain and needs them more than the veteran players against whom he will be competing.

Broncos Sign Second-Round Selection OL Zane Beadles

The Denver Post reports that the Broncos signed Zane Beadles earlier today:

Beadles’ deal was worth $4.2 million with a little more than $2.7 million guaranteed, which includes the first-year base salary of $320,000.

The No. 45 selection in the 2010 draft, Beadles finished the Broncos’ offseason minicamp program as their starting left guard. While it’s possible Seth Olsen, the team’s fourth-round pick in 2009, could recapture the No. 1 left guard spot on the depth chart, Beadles’ ability to play guard and right tackle means he will get plenty of playing time this season.

Demaryius Thomas and Tim Tebow remain unsigned.

Broncos, Eric Decker Reach Contract Agreement

The Broncos and third-round pick WR Eric Decker reached a contract agreement yesterday, according to the Denver Post:

The 6-foot-2 receiver from the University of Minnesota agreed to terms Monday night with the Broncos. Given where Decker was slotted as the No. 87 overall pick in the third round, he was to receive a four-year contract worth about $2.525 million with a $732,000 signing bonus.

The Broncos' only remaining unsigned picks are first-rounders Demaryius Thomas, Tim Tebow, and Zane Beadles. All three should be signed before Sunday when the first official practice takes place.
