Following up on speculation that the University of Denver Pioneers will be leaving the Sun Belt conference for the WAC, DU has released an official "Media Advisory"
The University of Denver will hold a press conference regarding conference affiliation on Thursday, Nov. 11 at 3:30 p.m. in Magness Arena at the Daniel L. Ritchie Center for Sports and Wellness.
According to a Denver Post report, of DU’s 17 teams, 10 will join the new conference. The breakdown, according to the Post
Western Collegiate Hockey Association — Men’s hockey
Mountain Pacific Sports Federation — Women’s lacrosse, men’s soccer, men’s swimming
Eastern College Athletic Conference — Men’s lacrosse
Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association — Men’s and women’s skiing
WAC — Men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s golf, women’s soccer, women’s swimming, men’s and women’s tennis, women’s gymnastics, women’s volleyball
According to sources, The WAC will introduce DU, Texas-San Antonio and Texas State as new members of the conference, joining San Jose State, Idaho, New Mexico State, Hawaii, Louisiana Tech and Utah State
